Dierks Bentley Performing Sweet and Wild Live On The Today Show

Dierks released a greatest hits cd in May of this year called Greatest Hits/Every Mile A Memory 2003 - 2008. It included all ten singles from his first three albums as well as two new songs. Sweet and Wild was one of the new songs. It's a duet with Sarah Buxton. It made it to #51 on the Billboard Hot Country charts without being released as an official single. Enjoy!

Vote For Your Favorite Female Country Music Singer

I added a new poll to the site today. You can cast your vote on the poll at the top left of the site. I'm curious to find out who your favorite new female country singer is. Your choices are Kellie Pickler, Carrie Underwood, Taylor Swift, Ashton Shepherd or Miranda Lambert. To help you decide who to vote for, here's my favorite video from each of the five nominees:

Rascal Flatts - Bob That Head Official Video

For Bob That Head, Rascal Flatts' did a pretty cool thing. They gave out cameras to fan-goers and asked them to film themselves while at their concerts. And, they used all of the footage to make this video. It was a great idea for a video, and the video has been very popular on CMT and GAC. Unfortunately, as a single, the song only made it to #15 on the Billboard Hot Country charts. Their only other single to chart lower on the charts was 2006's Life Is A Highway, which peaked at #18. It's definitely apparent that the charts like Flatts' slower songs rather than their upbeat rockin' songs. Enjoy!

Eric Church - Guys Like Me

Guys Like Me was a top twenty hit on the Billboard Hot Country charts for Eric Church last year. This is my favorite song from him so far. He was on a roll with three top twenty hits back in 2006 - 2007, but this was his last top 40 hit. I'm not sure why because Sinners Like Me and His Kind of Money were great songs and should have charted much higher than they did. Enjoy!

Steve Earle - Copperhead Road

In 1988, Steve Earle released his album Copperhead Road, and the first single of the same name actually appealed more to rock fans than country fans. It peaked at #10 on the Billboard Mainstream Rock charts, making it his highest charting single to date on the rock charts. It's sense become a fan favorite though among Earle's country and rock fans alike. Enjoy!

Jo Dee Messina - My Give A Damn's Busted

The business of country music is a fickle business. Just three short years ago, Jo Dee hit #1 on the Billboard Hot Country charts with My Give A Damn's Busted, which was the first single released from her Delicious Surprise album. Now, her latest album, Unmistakable has been shelved for the second time and may not be released at all. From what I hear, the release of the album was completely dependent on the success of her single, I'm Done, which only managed to make it to #34 on the Hot Country charts. Considering Jo Dee has had six #1 singles in her career, it's a shame her record company is treating her this way. But, as this song states, Jo Dee probably doesn't give a damn anyway. Enjoy!

Dolly Parton - Shinola - Official Music Video

Dolly's latest single is called Shinola. It's from her latest album Backwoods Barbie. It's the third single from that album. While Dolly is an icon and still sells out shows every where she plays, she hasn't had a solo top 40 hit since 1991's Eagle When She Flies, which peaked at #33 on the Hot Country charts. I'm not sure if this one's going to make it into the top 40 though.

I thought Better Get to Livin', her first single from Backwoods Barbie, was a good song and would have charted much higher than it did. It only managed to make it to #48 on the charts. Unfortunately for Dolly, today's country radio doesn't have much room for her music. It's much more focused on today's younger artists like Carrie Underwood and Taylor Swift. Enjoy!
