Happy Birthday Willie Nelson! Watch Pancho & Lefty One More Time...

Today is Willie Nelson's 76th birthday. At 76, Willie is still the hardest working man in country music. He just released his 77th studio album in March called Naked Willie, which includes remixes of recordings from 1966-1970 that have been stripped-down without orchestration or background vocals. In honor of Willie's birthday, here's the video for my favorite Willie Nelson song. It's his duet with Merle Haggard called Pancho & Lefty (MP3). Enjoy!

Darryl Worley's New Video For Sounds Like Life To Me

It's been four years since Darryl Worley had a top ten hit. If Something Should Happen peaked at #9 back in 2005. But, I believe his new single Sounds Like Life To Me (iTunes MP3) has a good shot at returning Worley to the top ten. This is a good song, and it's kind of a wake-up call for everything that's going on right now. Before you start blaming everyone and thinking your life is worse than others, remember that you're not the only one going through challenges. That's just life. Enjoy!

George Jones and Daughter Georgette Singing Daddy Come Home (Live)

Here's a rare glimpse at a side of George Jones that a lot of people never saw back in his heyday. It's footage of George bringing his daughter Georgette (Tammy Wynette and George's only child together) on stage to sing Daddy Come Home. Georgette was about ten years old when this footage was shot. Enjoy!

Is Kenny Chesney Using A Stunt Double To Open His New Shows?

My sources say absolutely not. But, the rumor has already spread all over the internet. You can see Kenny in his swing apparatus at the left. He's coming to Atlanta in a few weeks, and I'll be able to tell you with my own eyes (and binoculars), but according to eye witness reports from people who've already attended his concerts, there's no way this could be true.

Specifically, he's dropped off right on stage and continues on with the song, and people up front can vouch for Kenny that it's really him.

All of this started reminding me of all the outrageous and sometimes dangerous stunts Garth Brooks used to do during his concerts back in the late 80's and 90's. If you never attended one of Garth's concerts, check out this video, and you'll see what I mean. Garth remains one of the best live entertainers to ever grace a country stage.

And, Kenny's pretty darn good in concert as well...

Billy Currington's New Video For People Are Crazy

I loved this song the first time I heard it. It has one of the best chorus lines I've ever heard in a song:

God is Great
Beer is Good
And, People are Crazy. Amen to that!

Here are the lyrics in their entirety:

This old man and me, were at the bar and we
Were having us some beers and swapping I don't cares
Talking politics, blonde and red-head chicks
Old dogs and new tricks and habits we ain't kicked

We talked about Gods grace and all the hell we raised
Then I heard the ol' man say;
God is great, beer is good and People Are Crazy

He said "I fought two wars,
Been married and divorced"
What brings you to Ohio?
He said "Damned if I know"
We talked an hour or two about every girl we knew
What all we put them through
Like two old boys will do

We pondered life an death
He light a cigarette
He said "These damn things will kill me yet;
But God is great, beer is good and people are crazy"

Last call its 2am, I said goodbye to him
I never talk to him again
Then one sunny day, I saw the old mans face
Front page Obituary, he was a millionaire
he left his fortune to some guy he barely knew, his kids were mad as hell
But me, I'm doing well
And I drop by today, to just say thanks and pray, I left a six-pack right there on his grave and i said; God is great,
beer is good, and people are crazy.

God is great, beer is good, and people are crazy.

God is great, beer is good, and people are crazy.

Old Crow Medicine Show's New Video For Caroline

For a lot of you, this is probably the first time you've ever seen or heard of Old Crow Medicine Show. However, if you're a fan of bluegrass music or live in Nashville, you're very familiar with them. They've been together since 1998, and their last three albums have went to #1 on the US Bluegrass charts. Their latest effort, Tennessee Pusher (iTunes MP3), was released last September, and it made it to #7 on the Billboard Country albums charts.

I think the mainstream success of artists like the Zac Brown Band and Jamey Johnson are opening up doors for other bands like Old Crow who've been touring for a long time. All I can say is if you have a chance to see these boys live, DO NOT miss them. They're fantastic live. This song is called Caroline. Enjoy!

P.S. There's only a small amount of time left, but Caroline is the Free MP3 Song of the Day on Rhapsody.com.

World Premiere of Dierks Bentley's New Video For Sideways

Sideways is the the follow up single to Feel That Fire from Dierks' Feel That Fire album. Feel That Fire made it all the way to #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 charts, but I'm not sure if Sideways (iTunes MP3) will make it that high or not. I never count Dierks out though. He's released 12 singles in his career so far, and 50% of them have made it to #1. That's pretty darn impressive. Enjoy!

Trick Pony's Video For On A Night Like This

If you're new to the world of country music, you may not know that before Heidi Newfield was burning up the charts like Johnny and June, she was the feisty lead singer for the country trio known as Trick Pony. Back in 2000, they released their self-titled debut album, and it produced three top twenty hits on the Billboard Hot Country charts. The biggest hit was On A Night Like This (iTunes MP3), which peaked at #4 on the country charts. Heidi remained with the band until October 2006 when she left to pursue her solo career.

Trick Pony carried on without Heidi briefly with a new lead singer, Aubrey Collins, but in October 2007, Aubrey left, and Trick Pony called it quits. Ira Dean (the flamboyant long-haired bass player) is still making hits though. He co-wrote Montgomery Gentry's One In Every Crowd. Enjoy!
