New Music - Tyler Reeve - Whiskey Down Tour Video

I'd like to introduce you to a new artist named Tyler Reeve. Tyler's from Mobile, AL, and someone I believe is destined to make a name for himself. Here's what some others in the press have said about Tyler's music:

"With the combination of traditional and modern country sewn together in this way, Tyler Reeve has stumbled upon what a large portion of country music lovers have been salivating for; new music with older vibes."
- Today's Country Magazine

"Whiskey Down is "chock-full of the kind of honky-tonk style and guitar grit that Nashville has largely abandoned." - Access Atlanta

See what you think. This song is called Whiskey Down, and it's the title track from his debut album of the same name. To hear more of Tyler's music, check out his website at www.TylerReeve.com. Enjoy!

Alabama Governor Raids Country Crossing At 4AM This Morning In True Barney Fife Style

Remember a few weeks ago when I told you about the Grand Opening of Country Crossing in Dothan, AL? Well, you wouldn't believe what's going on down there right now. In addition to the awesome country music entertainment facilities, Country Crossing also has Bingo Machine gambling. And, in a scene similar to Barney Fife and Andy raiding moonshine stills, the Governor of Alabama sent over 120 state trooper cars to Country Crossing around 4AM this morning to raid the place.

The problem was the owner had been tipped off that they were coming, and it was closed up, locked up and the power was off. Here's a news report about the event and what transpired as well as couple of videos shot by a local observer who was present at the event. I'm originally from Dothan, AL, and I can tell you from friends that still live there, Country Crossing is one of the best things that has happened to the city. Besides the thousands of new jobs created, the entire area has been infused with hundreds of thousands of dollars, and untold millions to come over the next few years.

And, more importantly for country music fans, it's an awesome venue that's set to attract some of the top names in the business. The developer is the same guy (Ronnie Gilley) who's behind Bama Jam, which is already one of the largest outdoor country music festivals in the world. It would really be a shame if the doors were shut on Country Crossing. I'll keep you posted as this story develops.

Today Is A Bittersweet Day In History For The Dixie Chicks

Love 'em or hate 'em, there's no denying the Dixie Chicks were on top of the country music world for a while. Big Kenny - Walks The Talk - Follow His Search For A Friend In Haiti

Big Kenny doesn't just talk about loving everybody, he lives it. Big Kenny's been down in Haiti looking for a friend who's been missing since the earthquakes devastated most of the small island nation. Here's exactly why Big Kenny is down in Haiti via his Flickr account:

Big Kenny left for Haiti to join the search for his missing friend and the CEO of SunEPI , Walt Ratterman. Walt was promoting renewable energy projects in rural parts of Haiti and went missing after the January 12th earthquake.

Big Kenny arrived in the Dominican Republic along with a crew of 10 doctors and a rescue team. They crossed the border into Haiti and dispersed amongst the Port-au-Prince area providing aid and medical assistance along the way. Big Kenny is currently at the Hotel Montana, where Walt was last seen. He is along side the Virginia Task Force 1 (VATF-1), Fairfax County, Virginia's urban search and rescue team, who's plan is to stay until every human being is accounted for.

He continues to relay information and share photos from the disaster area.

Here are just a few of the photos Big Kenny is sharing from Haiti. In true Big Kenny style, he has chosen to focus on the positive things happening down there rather than the negative. God Bless you Kenny. You're definitely one of the good guys...

Eric Church Performing An Uncut Song Called Michael (Live)

Michael is the name of an uncut song written by Eric Church. According to AmericanSongwriter.com:
“There’s a song I didn’t cut, called ‘Michael,’ that’s probably the greatest song I’ve ever written,” Church says. “It’s about an alcoholic, a guy that stands up and says, ‘Hey, my name is Michael.’ He talks about his wife and kids, Little League and stuff. ‘That’s what’s going on in my life without me,’ he sings, and that’s where the hook came from. It was such a heavy song. The disappointment of this record was not having that song on it. But I couldn’t put it anywhere on the record and recover.”
Here he is performing the song live. This is a great song and hopefully, he'll record it for an album someday. Enjoy!

Happy Birthday Dolly Parton! Celebrate By Watching Some Of Her Greatest Hits

Today is Dolly Parton's birthday. Dolly was born the fourth of twelve children in Sevierville, TN on this day back in 1946. She grew up dirt poor, but rose to be one of, if not the, most recognizable and popular country music singers of all-time. To celebrate, I've put together a collection of some of her biggest hits. Enjoy and Happy Birthday Dolly!

Easton Corbin Performing An Acoustic Version Of I'm A Little More Country Than That (Live)

Let me ask you a question. The first time you heard this song on the radio, how many of you thought it was George Strait? I have to admit, I did. The first time I heard it, I didn't catch the beginning, and only heard the chorus, and I thought it was George for sure. George Strait's not a bad person to be confused with, that's for sure. Anyhow, here's Easton performing an acoustic version of the song live. Enjoy!

P.S. If you haven't seen the official music video yet, you can watch it here.

New Music - Bridgette Tatum - (I Like My) Cowboys Dirty - Official Music Video

Here's some one you need to keep an eye out for. Her name is Bridgette Tatum, and her debut single is called (I Like My) Cowboys Dirty. Here is why Roughstock.com says we should care about Bridgette:

Bridgette Tatum’s debut single “(I Like My) Cowboy’s Dirty” is about to be released to radio (it’s been on our radar since last summer) and while it recalls Gretchen Wilson, the rest of Bridgette’s debut album Sex, Church & Chicken can recall Wanda Jackson’s classic rockabilly as much as any other grooves and styles she hints at over the course of the record. One track to look out for on the record is the stunning “Johnny Cash’s Ashes.” Bridgette co-produced the album with singer songwriter Danny Myrick. Look for a late spring/early summer release for the record.

If you like this one, you can pick up the MP3 at Amazon right now. Enjoy!

Keith Urban and Nicole Kidman Tribute Simon Baker With Duet (via Country Music Tattle Tale)

Today's Post Is From:

Keith Urban and wife Nicole Kidman sang and performed a little song parody for fellow Aussie,Simon Baker, at the G’day USA dinner celebrating Aussies who impact the USA. The tune was sung to the Men at Work classic “Down Under.”

“His name is Simon Baker,” they sang to laughs in the crowd.
“Surfer dude. Home renovator. He was bound to be a Hollywood player.”

This may be the ONLY time we see Keith and Nicole do a duet, and it’s a funny treat indeed. Enjoy!
