Jason Aldean was born on this day back in 1977 in Macon, Georgia. To celebrate his birthday, here's a look back at song that introduced Jason Aldean to the world: Hicktown! Happy Birthday Jason!
How cool is this? When Justin Moore found out that there were a large number of fans who were turned away from an acoustic performance he was doing at a bar in Wichita, KS, he went out into the parking lot after the show and played an impromptu show for those that hung around in the parking lot. Now that's something you won't see too many country music stars doing very often these days. Great job Justin! Enjoy!
Love Like Crazy is Lee Brice's latest single. This is a great song. It's currently sitting at #32 on the Billboard Hot Country charts. It's the first single released from his second studio album Love Like Crazy, which was released back on February 2nd. Enjoy!
If you're not familiar with Granger Smith, you should check him out at www.GrangerSmith.com. His latest single is called I Almost Am, and in this video, Granger takes you behind-the-scenes of the new video for the song. In case this is the first time you've heard Granger, the video below this one is the audio of the entire song. I think you'll enjoy it. It's a good one.
It's a beautiful day here in Atlanta on this Sunday afternoon, and Hello Dave's new song Golden is the perfect song for a day like this. It's a happy-go-lucky type of song from this band from Chicago. They've released six albums, but this is the first song that I'm aware of that's been featured on CMT. If you know more about these guys, please feel free to share. Thanks!
Josh Thompson released his debut album this week. If you haven't picked up a copy of Way Out Here yet, I highly recommend you do. We got to know Josh a lot better through an interview a few weeks ago. His first single, Beer On The Table, is already a top 20 hit. While it's a great song, my favorite song on the CD is this one, Blame It On Waylon. Enjoy!
The best test of an artist's ability to entertain an audience is when it's just them alone on stage with nothing else. And, that's exactly what Jewel does in this live performance from San Francisco last year. She does a fantastic job singing her latest single Stay Here Forever. Enjoy!
Johnny Cash was born on this day back in 1932 in Kingsland, Arkansas. From his humble beginnings, Johnny rises to become one of, if not the, most influential singers in the history of country music.
Kick It In The Sticks is the first single released from Brantley Gilbert's 2nd album Halfway To Heaven, due out in stores on March 16, 2010. Now this is a rockin' country song!
People.com had a great interview yesterday with Laura Bell Bundy that I think you'll enjoy. In it, Laura talks about how long she's been writing country music, her mothers dimples and 'other parts' and the inspiration behind Giddy On Up. You've gotta love this young lady from Kentucky. She's definitely a breath of fresh air. Enjoy!
P.S. If you still haven't seen Giddy On Up, here it is after the jump:
If you've been following American Idol, Texas' Casey James seems to be the clubhouse leader right now. In this performance, he performed Bryan Adams' hit single Heaven. It's not a country song (although Jason Aldean pulled it off very well), but it definitely showcased Casey's vocals. What'd you think? Is he the next American Idol country star?
This is a great video. It's for Jamey Johnson's High Cost Of Living. The song was released as a single last year, and peaked at #34 on Billboard Hot Country charts, so the video's a little late coming out. No matter though. It's a great song and a great video. Enjoy!
For Lady A's Webisode Wednesday today, Lady A takes you behind-the-scenes at the chilly making of their music video for American Honey. If you haven't seen the video yet, go here to watch it. Enjoy!
If you haven't heard this song, please take a few minutes and listen to one of the last songs ever recorded by Johnny Cash. Ain't No Grave (Can Hold My Body Down) comes from American VI: Ain't No Grave, a posthumous album released yesterday. The recordings on this album were recorded at the same time as Johnny's American V: A Hundred Highways album, which was released in July 2006. These are two albums that should definitely be in your music collection. Enjoy!
I love it when artists do this. Sarah Buxton's self-titled debut album was released today. Her single Outside My Window is currently at #23 on the Billboard Hot Country charts, and it's still climbing. In the video playlist below, you can listen to Sarah and Jedd Hughes perform an acoustic set of all 11 songs on her debut album. After listening to the set, which I thoroughly enjoyed myself, I'm sure you'll want to buy the album. It's available now from my favorite retailer Amazon.com. Enjoy the playlist!

In case you missed Lady A's new video for American Honey that was featured on Oprah last week, here it is below. American Honey is already at #12 on the Billboard Hot Country charts, and if it follows in the footsteps of it's two predecessors, it'll be hitting number one very soon. Enjoy!
Blossom in the Dust is newcomer Mallary Hope's second official single. Her first single was called Love Lives On. It didn't quite make it into the top 40 on the Billboard Hot Country charts, peaking at #42. Let's all help Mallary's second single break into the top 40. If you like this one, call your local stations and request it, and of course, you can always buy the MP3. Enjoy this live performance from Mallary.
This is still one of my favorite country songs of all-time. I love this video as well. For those who are too young to remember Waylon Jennings, please do yourself a favor and check out some of his music. This song was from his Waylon and Company album released in 1983 featuring duets with country greats Hank Williams, Jr., Jessi Colter, Willie Nelson, Ernest Tubb, Mel Tillis, Jerry Reed, Emmylou Harris, Tony Joe White and actor James Garner.
Bridgette Tatum's new single I Like My Cowboys Dirty is picking up more and more steam every day. If you haven't seen her new music video for the song yet, you can check it out here. In the video below, Bridgette fills you in on her background and why she does what she does. Enjoy!
Bucky's been in the studio working on his second studio album, and he shot this little video to give you a quick, and I do mean quick, listen to what he's been working on. Enjoy!
Check in with Jennifer and Kristian as they get prepared for their 2010 tour. Wondering when they'll be playing near you? Check out their tour schedule on their official website. Enjoy!
Reba and Kelly turned out to be one of the most successful partnerships that CMT Crossroads has ever put together. They taped the episode on this day back in 2007. Here's a couple of songs from their fantastic performance. Enjoy!
Back in 2003, Blake Shelton scored his second number one single on the Billboard Hot Country charts with The Baby. His first number one was his 2001 debut single Austin. Enjoy this number one flashback from a much longer-haired Blake Shelton...
If you've never heard this, please sit back and take the time to listen to it. It's Jessi Colter performing Please Carry Me Home with her son Shooter. This was the last track on Colter's 2006 Out of the Ashes album., which was her first studio album in ten years. Enjoy!
On this day back in 2004, Toby Keith's tribute to the 'American Soldier' moved up to number one on the Billboard Hot Country charts. It was Toby's 13th number one country single, and 3rd in a row. Enjoy!
I haven't had a chance to see Bomshel live yet, but I definitely plan to sometime this year. Fight Like A Girl was their breakthrough single last year. Here they are performing a live acoustic version of the song at the KAT 103 Shadow Lake Towne Center Listener Lounge in Omaha, NE. Enjoy!
P.S. If you haven't seen their music video for 19 and Crazy yet, check it out here as well as another live acoustic performance.
Here's newcomer Brittany McDonald and her video for her first single Another Wanna Be. Brittany co-wrote and co-produced this song and video as well as the others on her Myspace page. If you're on Twitter, follow her @brittanymcd. Enjoy!
If the new version of We Are The World wasn't to your liking, then maybe Nashville's Come Together Now is more your style. It's a collaboration between various artists from Nashville, and according to BAM's blog, "it's the lead track for the March 2 “Healing4Haiti,” a full album project featuring songs by artists including Israel Houghton, DecembeRadio, Kari Jobe, The Afters, Hawk Nelson, Flyleaf’s Lacey Mosley, Canton Jones, Lincoln Brewster and Mary Mary. For more information, go to www.healing4haiti.info or www.samaritanspurse.org.
Other artists who were part of “Come Together Now” Music City Unites for Haiti:
Aaron Shust, Alathea, Amy Grant, Ashley Cleveland, Austins Bridge, Brandon Heath, Britt Nicole, Chris McClarney, Chris Rodriguez, Chris Sligh, Don Poythress, Dorothy Savage, Duane Allen, Echoing Angels, Everlife, Francesca Battistelli, Jaime Jamgochian, Jared Anderson, Jody Davis, John Schlitt, Kate Lazar, Katinas, Kevin Max, Kirk Sullivan, Lee Greenwood, Manic Drive, Margaret Becker, Mark Hall, Matt Dowley, Matthew West, Matt Maher, Meredith Andrews, Michael Tait, MIKESCHAIR, Mike Weaver, Paige Armstrong, Phil Stacey, PureNRG, Rachael Lampa, Restless Heart, Selah, Steven Curtis Chapman, Toby Mac, Veronica Petrucci, Vince Gill, Wynonna, and Yellow Cavalier."
Thanks to NashvilleGab for posting this earlier today.
In this video for Alan Jackson's latest single It's Just That Way, everything seems off for this young man as he walks around town, but once he's with his lover, everything is back to normal. It's Just That Way is currently sitting at #22 on the Billboard Hot Country charts. Alan's last single, I Still Like Bologna (great video), was his first single to fail to crack the top 20 on the country charts since The Blues Man back in 2000, and it was only his third single ever to fail to do so. The other was his debut single Blue Blooded Woman back in 1989. I have a feeling this one's definitely going to be a top ten hit. Enjoy!
Country music's funniest Tweeter and boyfriend to country music's coolest chick will be featured on Walmart's Soundcheck series premiering March 1, 2010. In addition to his exclusive Soundcheck performance, you'll also be able to download the song Delilah for free from 3/1 to 3/30. Here's a sneak peak of the performance, and don't forget to visit the Soundcheck website on March 1st to watch the entire show and download your free song. Enjoy!
Billy's That's How Country Boys Roll moved up to number five on the Billboard Hot Country charts this week, making it his third top five hit in a row. People Are Crazy went all the way to number one, and Don't peaked at number two. This one might have enough steam to move up a few more slots as well. We shall see. Enjoy!
Lee Ann's latest single is called There Is A God. It's currently at #34 on the Billboard Hot Country charts. She hasn't released an official music video for the song yet, but I wanted to feature the song and it's lyrics anyway. I love this song and think you will as well. Enjoy!
Try and put your arms around
the 100 year old tree
Climb up on a horse
and let it run full speed
Take a look down at the world from 30,000 feet
on your next flight
Watch a flock of birds
against the morning sun
Close your eyes and listen
to the river run
Catch a firefly in your hand
or a raindrop on your tongue
That's right
Chorus:
There is a God
There is a God
There is a God
How much proof do you need?
Plant a seed and see
what comes out of the ground
Find the heartbeat on your baby's ultrasound
In a few years hear it laughing,
and don't it sound like a song?
Stop and think about
what you don't understand
Things like life and love
and how the world began
Hear the doctor say he can't explain it,
but the cancer is gone
Chorus:
There is a God
There is a God
There is a God
How much proof do you need?
Bridge:
Science says it's all just circumstance
Like this whole worlds just an accident
But if you want to shoot that theory down,
Look around
Just look around
There is a God
There is a God
There is a God,
How much proof do you need?
Oh there is a God
There is a God
There is a God
How much proof do you need?
Back on this day in 2005, an episode of CMT Crossroads debuted featuring Keith Urban and rock legend John Fogerty. It's still one of my favorite episodes. Among the songs they performed were Centerfield, Sugar Sugar and You'll Think Of Me.
Yesterday, we featured Luke Bryan's new video for his latest single Rain Is A Good Thing. Today, I wanted to feature this footage of Luke in concert performing his first single All My Friends Say. About half way through the song, he breaks into a little headbanging with Metallica's Enter Sandman. Pretty cool stuff. Enjoy!
First, thank you all for the great job spreading the word about this contest. Reba obviously has some very passionate and loyal fans. The response has been overwhelming.
We printed off all the RT's from Twitter and our fans from Facebook and comments from the site, and then one winner was randomly chosen. And, that winner is one of our followers on Twitter (and Facebook) actually. Her Twitter name is @BriannaLuvsReba. Congratulations!
Thanks again to everyone for spreading the word about this contest. We've got another contest on the on-deck circle, and we'll announce it very soon. To insure you don't miss that announcement, be sure to follow us on Twitter, fan us on Facebook and subscribe to our email newsletter here.
I've been waiting on this one to be released. It's newcomers Coldwater Jane's video for their debut single Bring On The Love. Coldwater Jane are Brandon Jane and Leah Crutchfield, two sisters from Lucedale, Mississippi. From the look and sound of this song and video, I think these two might be on the cusp of something big. What do you think?
Man I love this song by Luke Bryan. Rain is a Good Thing is his latest single. This song reminds me so much of growing up in South Alabama right along the Alabama/Georgia border. My dad was a seed salesman for a number of different seed companies before he retired a few years back. Nothing made him happier than a good thunderstorm in the middle of the summer because it meant his farmers were going to be happy. It may sound corny, but my dad literally used to say to me, "Son, rain's a good thing." Yes it is. Enjoy Luke's new video.
Good morning everyone! I think this is the last contest I do where I require we hit a certain number of followers on Twitter or Facebook to win. Why? Because the last two times I've done this, including this contest, the followers seem to trickle in, but when I don't set limits, the followers seem to flood in. (It's almost as if potential followers who would love our site think there's some catch or it's a gimmick).
Moving forward, I'm going to be creative with the giveaways, but not set any limits. But, I'll still need for you, our loyal readers and followers, to help us out by re-tweeting, etc.
With that being said, this week's Reba McEntire Prize Package is dying to fly out of my door, so I want to give it away TODAY! Our next giveaway featuring Keith Urban and an autographed CD from another one of today's hottest young country acts is on deck and ready to go.
So, here's all you need to do today to win:
If you're on Twitter, make sure you're following us and RT this message to your followers. If you're on Facebook, make sure you're a fan on our Facebook page, and share the contest with your friends. If you're not on either, make sure you're subscribing to our email newsletter and leave a comment below of why you'd like to win this Reba prize package!
Tomorrow morning at 8am, we'll put everyone who RT'd this message, our fans on Facebook and all those who left a comment, and we'll randomly pick a winner! This way, someone's weekend will start off just a little bit brighter than you thought.
Good luck and thank you for visiting our site and following us on Twitter and Facebook. We really do appreciate it.
Have a great day!
Jason
P.S. If you missed this contest announcement earlier in the week, here's what's included in the giveaway: An Autographed Reba McEntire Keep On Loving You CD AND Reba's Video Gold I DVD (Not autographed)
P.S.S. If you aren't following us on Twitter or Facebook, but choose to enter the contest by leaving a comment below, please make sure to email us at TodaysCountryMusicVideos@gmail.com so we can contact you if you're the winner. Thanks!
Alright Taylor Swift fans, Fearless is finally here! It's Taylor's official music video for Fearless, her latest single. Fearless is doing something that none of Taylor's other singles have done. It's moving up the Billboard Hot 100 charts faster than the country charts. It's currently at #9 on the Hot 100 and #13 on the Country charts. It'll be interesting to see if this continues to happen with all of Taylor's singles from this point forward because of her massive popularity outside of the country world. Enjoy her new video!
From Blog.CMT.com - "Love and Theft have come up with an interesting experiment involving a new 360-degree video camera. The video was shot Saturday (Feb. 13) during the Lyric Street trio's show at Toby Keith's I Love This Bar & Grill in Mesa, Ariz., near Phoenix.
The technology involved with the 360-degree camera gives you control of the visuals you watch the video on your computer. While viewing it, you can use your mouse to click and move the image to provide different views of the concert venue, including the stage and the audience."
To watch the above mentioned video, go to this page on CMT.com. Very cool stuff. After checking out that video on CMT, come back here and watch their latest music video for Dancing in Circles. It's a good one as well. Enjoy!
I've been fortunate enough to see Pat Green live, and I can tell you from experience, he puts on a helluva good show. But, if you want to see what kind of person he really is, check out this video from a few years back. Pat brings his little daughter on stage with him and dances and sings with her. Pretty cool stuff. Enjoy!
Kellie Pickler is on the Ellen Show again today. She's a frequent guest on the show, and most of the time, Ellen doesn't even have to say anything. It's just fun to watch and listen to Kellie. If she ever gets tired of singing, I think there are a lot of networks that would jump at the chance to have Ms. Pickler host a talk show. Here's the link to today's show: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A6i0sl5u4UY.
After watching today's segment, it reminded me of all the other times she was on with Ellen. My favorite was last year's Halloween special when Kellie strutted on out dressed like Dolly Parton. If you've got some time, I think you'll enjoy that one as well as two other appearances below.
Now this is a great deal! From now until April 9, 2010, you can download the following playlist from iTunes for FREE. The promotion is part of People.com's Country Special. Go to this page on People.com to download the entire playlist.
James Otto: GroovyLittle Summer Song
Jimmy Wayne: Just Knowing You Love Me
Allison Moorer: The Broken Girl
Joe Nichols: The Shape I'm In
Dolly Parton: Jolene (live)
Steve Azar: Sunshine
Sarah Buxton: American Daughters
Josh Thompson: Won't Be Lonely Long
The Band Perry: Hip to My Heart
The McClymonts: My Life Again
Easton Corbin's sound is definitely a breath of fresh air. Too many of today's young country artists sound more like pop stars than country singers, but Easton's voice and sound is pure country. By now, you've heard his debut single I'm A Little More Country Than That. Here's Roll With It, track number one on his self-titled debut CD, and a helluva good song. Enjoy!
P.S. I just checked Amazon, and the MP3 for Roll With It is available for only $.69 right now.
Yesterday, we featured an interview with Josh Thompson and our friend Vicky Dobbin. If you missed it, please check it out. Josh talks about his new album, Way Out Here, due out a week from today, and this morning, I found this video of Josh performing his newest single, Blame It On Waylon live in concert at The Intersection in Grand Rapids, MI on February 6th. Pretty good stuff. Enjoy!
P.S. If you haven't seen his video for Beer On The Table yet, you should check it out. I love this song.
If this video doesn't send chills down your spine, then nothing probably will. In the early morning hours of March 16, 1991, part of Reba's road band were on a chartered jet leaving the San Diego area. In poor visibility, the plane crashed into the side of Otay Mountain killing eight of Reba's band members and two pilots. Her band members, and more importantly, friends who died were Chris Austin, Kirk Cappello, Joey Cigainero, Paula Kaye Evans, Terry Jackson, Michael Thomas, Tony Saputo, and her tour manager, Jim Hammond.
This performance by Reba was her first live performance after the horrific accident. She does a fantastic job composing herself and in true Reba style, belts out this song in their memory.
P.S. If you're a Reba fan, don't forget about our Reba contest going on right now. Click here for details. All you have to do to be entered is follow us on Twitter or join our Fan Page on Facebook. And, if you'd like to spread the word to your friends, that's okay too...
A few weeks ago, I told you about Big Kenny and his journey to Haiti after the earthquake to try and locate his friend who has been missing since the quake hit. This video is Big Kenny's tribute to his missing friend, and it's your opportunity to help as well. I urge you to spend six minutes and watch. It's definitely worth your time. After watching, if you'd like to help, visit BigKenny.tv/crywithyou for more details. Thanks!
Jimmy Wayne's star has been on the rise for a while now. Since you're a country music fan, I'm sure you know about his Meet Me Halfway walk from Nashville to Phoenix to raise money for homeless kids and teenagers. Jimmy's a class act, and I'm proud of what he's doing. It's rare this day and age for any public figure to actually practice what they preach.
Speaking of Jimmy, check out this video of Jimmy and John Oates performing Sara Smile back in October of last year. Jimmy was the opening act for Dierks Bentley and Brad Paisley on Brad's American Saturday Night tour. This footage is from Baltimore, Maryland on October 22, 2009. Enjoy!
Before watching this video, if you asked me if I wanted some Turtle Mulligan, I would have looked at you as if you were crazy. Not anymore though. Here's Gretchen Wilson's Uncle Vern to tell you all about it. Bon appetit!
If you weren't able to attend this past week's Inaugural CountryMusicIsLove Concert benefiting City of Hope at The Rutledge in downtown Nashville on Tuesday, February 9, 2010, here's a playlist I put together of clips of some of the performers. You'll see Whitney Duncan, Mallary Hope, Adam Gregory, Gwen Sebastian, Jason Jones, Jesse Lee, Johnny Bulford and Caitlin Lynn. I don't have clips from Matt Stillwell and the Carter Twins yet, but I'll add those to the playlist as soon as they become available. Enjoy!
P.S. Thanks to CountryMusicIsLove for the great clips from the event and for organizing the entire event. Great job!
Martina's latest 'Moment' gives you a great behind-the-scenes look at the shooting for the video for her latest single Wrong Baby Wrong Baby Wrong. Enjoy!
Josh Thompson’s Honest Tales of Work, Love and Beer Strike a Chord With Fans
“If I got a ‘don’t care’ attitude and long hair and mean every damn word I’m saying, I blame it on Waylon,” Josh Thompson sings in his new video “Blame It On Waylon,” and the lyrics are truth for the singer/songwriter and the increasingly large crowds coming out to see him and sing every word.
Those sing-alongs are particularly loud when he plays “Beer on the Table,” a hit on country radio and top country video. “It’s almost to the point where I don’t have to sing it,” Josh says with a chuckle. “As a songwriter and an artist, that’s the biggest payoff you can get is watching people sing your lyrics back at you. And it’s apparent that it’s striking a chord.”
“It’s about working hard and playing harder,” Josh explains, chatting with TodaysCountryMusicVideos.com as he was driving to his latest show. He wrote the song about working on a concrete crew in his native Wisconsin, and his fans – be they construction workers, high school students, insurance agents or even soccer moms – connect with the simple but honest lyrics and catchy tune.
That honesty also comes through as Josh talks about being able to do what he loves for a living. “I am very proud to play country music,” Josh says. “I grew up on it. I love it. That’s what I write. I don’t think I could sell anything else, really.”
Like many songwriters, Josh easily shares even his most personal thoughts and pain with his fans. The song “Sinner,” for example, “That’s pretty much about me walking that line between good and bad, like I think everyone does,” he explains. “It’s a confessional, really.”
“Sinner” is one of the highlights of Josh’s new CD "Way Out Here," which will be released on February 23. You can listen to “Sinner,” the hit “Beer on the Table” as well as “Blame it on Waylon” and “Won’t Be Lonely Long” at JoshThompsonOfficial.com.
Josh will launch the CD with a release party February 22 in Milwaukee in his home state of Wisconsin. It’s a day off from his new gig opening for Eric Church on the Jagermeister Country Tour, which has more than 3o dates and runs well into the spring.
Life on the road is old hat for Josh and his band. They’re been out playing “Beer on the Table” since fall 2007, playing all across the country in a passenger van they’ve named Van-A-White. You can take a hilarious tour of Van-A-White and meet the slightly creepy little Van Wilder mascot at JoshThompsonOfficial.com.
Being a hot country artist on the road has its perks, of course. Josh says he loves the crowds, which are growing with every show, and he’s been able to play with great country artists, including Eric Church, Randy Houser, Dierks Bentley, Gretchen Wilson and the legendary Hank Jr. He’s also had some interesting fan encounters, including requests to sign body parts -- “but only the good ones,” he laughs.
Listen to Josh talk about touring, what he misses while out on the road, connecting with fans through Twitter, and whether he’d rather play a show with Miranda Lambert or go hunting with Blake Shelton.
As this Valentine's Day comes to an end, I'd like to feature my favorite country music love song. It's Collin Raye's Love Me. This song always reminds me of my late grandparents. They met when they were teenagers and were together their entire life. I dedicate this song in their memory. Love you two...
I hope y'all enjoyed today's Valentine's Day Love Song marathon and want to thank you for visiting and supporting our site. Have a great night!
King George makes his second appearance on our Valentine's Day Love Songs marathon today with Carrying Your Love With Me. If you missed it, I Cross My Heart was featured earlier. Enjoy and Happy Valentine's Day everyone!
P.S. Be sure to check back every hour as we're featuring a new love song every hour until midnight tonight.
Hank Williams' Cold Cold Heart is about a man who's fallen in love with a woman who's already with someone else. It's a classic that I had to share. And, I love the beginning of this video where Hank tells the crowd how this song "has been awful kind to me and the boys... it's bought us a lot of beans and biscuits..." Now that's classic! Enjoy and Happy Valentine's Day everyone!
P.S. Be sure to check back every hour as we're featuring a new love song every hour until midnight tonight.
Earlier today, I was thinking of a new contest for this week, and I received numerous messages today asking if I had any more autographed Reba McEntire CD's. So, with that in mind, and due to the persistence of all of Reba's fans on Twitter, here is what I'm going to do. I'm going to need a little help from all the Reba fans out there, but I'm sure you can do this in no time. At this moment, we have 1,535 followers on Twitter and 188 Fans on our Facebook Fan Page. As soon as we hit either 1,635 followers on Twitter and/or 300 Fans on Facebook, we'll pick a winner. All you have to do to win is follow us on Twitter and/or Fan us on Facebook. What do you win?
An autographed Reba McEntire Keep On Loving You CD AND Reba McEntire's Video Gold I DVD (not autographed)!
