I heard this song earlier today for the first time in years. Back in 1991, Lionel Cartwright took Leap Of Faith to number one on the Billboard Hot Country charts. It's his only number one single, and he hasn't released another album since 1991's Chasin' The Sun. According to his Wikipedia page, since leaving his record label back in 1992, he's composed themes for television series, including 30 Minute Meals, and he works as a music director at Bellevue Community Church in Nashville.
