Today Is A Very Important Anniversary For Jason Michael Carroll

Today is the day that Arista released Jason Michael Carroll's debut album Waitin' In The Country, and the world was exposed to Carroll's unique voice. His first single, Alyssa Lies was a huge hit, and brought the issue of child abuse to the forefront.

JMC also made history by having both the best unit sales and the highest pop chart debut by a new country male artist since Billy Ray Cyrus in 1992. Relive Jason's biggest hit so far with this live acoustic version of Alyssa Lies. Enjoy!

Jason Michael Carroll's New Video For Hurry Home

Hurry Home is Jason Michael Carroll's newest single. It's a tearjerker about a girl who runs away from home and the message her dad leaves on the answering machine telling her:

It doesn't matter what you've done, I still love you
It doesn't matter where you've been, you can still come home
And honey if it's you, we've got a lot of making up to do
And I can't hug you on the phone, so hurry home

It's currently at #38 on the Billboard Hot Country charts. This one reminds me a little of Blake Shelton's Austin except it's about a father and daughter rather than a man and his lover. Enjoy!

It was an emotional song back then, and he brings even more emotion to it in this unplugged version from CMT's Unplugged at Studio 330 performance. Enjoy!
