Whitney Duncan's star is on the rise. Her latest single, Skinny Dippin' is still hanging around the top 50 on the Billboard Hot Country charts. A while back, I featured a video of her performing this song live, and now, here's the official music video. Enjoy!
According to CMT.com, newcomer Jessie James' sounds is like "splitting the difference between Shania Twain's twangy pop and Christina Aguilera's acrobatics." This song could definitely be released on R&B or pop radio as easily as country. In fact, it'll probably get more airplay on those types of stations than traditional country. But, I'm sure there are a number of progressive country radio stations that'll give it a spin. Either way, her sound and look make for an entertaining video. What do you think?
Taylor Swift's You Belong With Me is currently sitting at number three on both the Billboard Hot Country charts and the Billboard Hot 100 charts. It's already her highest charting single on the Hot 100 charts. Love Story peaked at number four on the Hot 100. Here's Taylor in an exclusive performance from CMT's Unplugged at Studio 330. Enjoy!
I didn't get a chance to see this back when she was on Ellen, but I'm glad I found this today. It's a super clear video of Kellie Pickler's performance of Best Days Of Your Life. This song is Kellie's highest charting single of her career. It's currently sitting right outside the top ten at number 11. I hope it keeps going and becomes her first top ten single. Enjoy!
I started something new today on Twitter. Every Thursday, I am going to be showing some love for up and coming country artists. I call it #CountryNewbiesThursdays, and today, one of the young artists I featured was Jessie Farrell. If you're not familiar with Jessie, she's an aspiring young singer from Vancouver, British Columbia Canada. This song is called Best of Me. It's the third single from her 2007 debut album Nothing Fancy.
It was released as a single last year, and it peaked at #19 on the Canadian Country charts. Jessie's second studio album is supposed to be released some time this year. If you'd like to keep up with Jessie, follow her on Twitter, Facebook or Myspace. And, while you're at it, if you're not following us, how about joining us on Twitter @todayscountry. Enjoy Jessie's video!
Sexy duo Bombshel have released a good one. It's called Fight Like A Girl (MP3). I have to admit, I don't know a lot about them, but I like this song. A while back, I featured a couple of other videos of them. You can check them out here. If you'd like to add some commentary to this post, please send in your comments. I'd love to find out more about them. Their Wikipedia page is empty. Enjoy!
Jessica Harp and Michelle Branch stormed onto the country music scene as The Wreckers a few years back. They had tremendous success with their single Leave The Pieces (see video below), which was nominated for a Grammy award. They decided to put The Wreckers on hold while they both recorded solo albums. Michelle went back to pop, but Jessica stayed with country music, and her first country solo album is called A Woman Needs. It's set for release later this summer, and the first single is called Boy Like Me (Buy MP3). It will be released to country radio on March 9th, but luckily for us, she's already released the official music video. Here it is. Enjoy!

It's finally here. CMT posted the world premiere of Taylor Swift's video for her latest single White Horse. Currently, White Horse is at #10 on the Billboard Hot Country charts and #13 on the Billboard Hot 100 charts. This one's got a chance to peak even higher than Love Story on the Hot 100 charts. Love Story peaked at #1 on the country charts and #4 on the Hot 100 charts.
Today, Kellie Pickler's giving us a behind-the-scenes look at the making of her music video for her single Don't You Know You're Beautiful. Here's the finished product. Enjoy!
Julianne Hough's second single from her self-titled debut album is called My Hallelujah Song. It's the follow-up to her top 20 hit single That Song In My Head. It's currently at #44 on the Billboard Hot Country charts, and I think it's a top 20 hit as well. Julianne performed this song on the November 18th episode of Dancing With The Stars. Enjoy!
I'm Only Me When I'm With You is a single from Taylor Swift's self-titled Deluxe Edition album. It was originally released as a single back in 2007, and it's been re-released this year as well. It's more of a pop song, but because of Taylor's popularity, I'm sure it'll start getting played on a lot of country stations as well. Enjoy!
Miranda Lambert's fourth single from her Crazy Ex-Girlfriend album is a ballad called More Like Her. I really like this one and hope it continues to climb the charts. Currently, it's sitting at #35 on the Billboard Hot Country charts. Enjoy!
Love Story is Taylor Swift's latest single from her Fearless album. It just debuted on the Billboard Hot Country charts this week at #25, which is her highest debut on the country charts ever. Like a lot of her other songs, Love Story is also receiving a lot of airplay on pop radio, and it's already at #16 on the Billboard Hot 100 charts. Enjoy!
Beautiful Eyes is the name of a new EP that Taylor Swift released exclusively at Wal-Mart. Beautiful Eyes is also the name of one of the songs on the EP. She hasn't released it as an official single, but she did produce a video for the song for the DVD. Enjoy!
Wow! Taylor Swift's Should've Said No jumped up from #5 last week to #1 this week. Jumps like that don't happen very often on the country charts. They knocked Sugarland's All I Want To Do out of the top spot after only one week. This is Taylor's second #1 single on the country charts. She hit #1 last year with Our Song. Here is the complete top 25 for the week:
Here's Taylor's amazing performance of Should've Said No earlier this year at the 2008 ACM Awards: (To see videos for the other songs, just click on the song name above) Enjoy!
Kellie Pickler's performance of Don't You Know You're Beautiful from the 2008 ACM Awards tied Carrie Underwood's performance of Last Name for our visitor's Favorite Performance From the 2008 ACM Awards. Here's Kellie's official music video for the song. It's currently sitting at #31 on the Billboard Hot Country charts, and it's the lead single from her upcoming self-titled album to be released later this year. Enjoy!
The More Boys I Meet...the more I love my dog is my favorite song on Carrie's Carnival Ride CD. Here she is performing the song live during a performance at the Grand Ole Opry earlier this year. Enjoy!
Miranda Lambert's current single Gunpowder and Lead is sitting at #11 on the Billboard Hot Country charts, which is her highest charting single to date. Today, we're taking a look back at Miranda's first charting single, Me and Charlie Talking, which peaked at #27 on the Hot Country charts. Enjoy!
Crystal Shawanda's rise to fame was documented by CMT in the six-part series Crystal: Living the Dream, which aired in February 2008. Her first single is called You Can Let Go, and so far, it has made it to #36 on the Billboard Hot Country charts. However, it was a top five single on the Canadian Country charts, peaking at #5. Enjoy!
