A few weeks ago, I featured a video of Chris singing this song live here in the Atlanta area. This is Chris' first top thirty hit on the Billboard Hot Country charts. This week, it moved up from number 22 to number 19. I think it'll definitely make it into the top 15, and it just might become his first top ten hit. We shall see. Enjoy!
Gettin' You Home (The Black Dress Song) is already Chris Young's biggest hit of his career. Currently, it's sitting at #23 on the Billboard Hot Country charts. I'm pretty sure it'll make it into the top 20, and it's got a shot at hitting the top ten. Here's Chris and his band performing the song live at Cowboys in Kennesaw, GA. back on June 26th. Enjoy!
Former Nashville Star semi-finalist Sean Patrick McGraw has been touring the U.S. relentlessly over the last year. His latest single is called Dollar Ain't Worth A Dime (MP3). I like how Sean describes his music, "something like Lyle Lovett singing Springsteen songs while wearing Dwight Yoakams' hat." That's pretty accurate if you ask me. Enjoy!
One of the great things about Twitter is I've been re-introduced to some up-and-coming artists that I enjoyed watching on Nashville Star. One of those is Ashlee Hewitt, who finished in fifth place in last year's Nashville Star 6. Ashlee was one of my favorites from the show. I loved her version of Johnny Cash's Ring of Fire.
You can catch up with Ashlee these days by following her on Twitter and Myspace.
Melissa Lawson just won this year's Nashville Star competition. Her first single and video is called What If It All Goes Right. Melissa is the sixth winner of Nashville Star, following previous winners Buddy Jewell, Brad Cotter, Erika Jo, Chris Young and Angela Hacker. Miranda Lambert is probably the most well-known and successful performer to appear on Nashville Star. She finished third during the inaugural 2003 season, which was won by Buddy Jewel, who's also had a pretty good career so far. Enjoy!
Ok. Some, if not all of you are probably asking yourself right now... Who the heck is Brent Keith? Besides this song, his only other major claim to fame is he was a contestant on the USA Network television show, Nashville Star. He was on the 2nd season, and he finished #6. That's not a bad place to come from though considering Miranda Lambert, Buddy Jewell, and Chris Young are all Nashville Star alums. He looks a lot like ex-Lonestar frontman Richie McDonald to me. Enjoy!
