On this day back in 1949, Hank Sr.'s cover version of Lovesick Blues became his first number one country single. It's one of the few cover songs Hank Sr. ever recorded, and in 2004, it was one of 50 recordings chosen by the Library of Congress to be added to the National Recording Registry.
