A Video Look Back At The 2010 CMT Music Awards

Another CMT Music Awards has come and gone. What did you think of this year's show? CMT continues to push the envelope between country and pop, but unless you've been under a rock the last couple of years, that's the direction "popular" country music has been trending anyway. Love it or hate it, it's reality for now.

The host for this year's show was pop/rap/hard rock/country singer Kid Rock. Kid Rock and a host of other country stars opened up the show to Kid Rock's 1999 single Cowboy. He was joined on stage by Martina McBride, Kellie Pickler, Jamey Johnson, Randy Houser, Zac Brown, Trace Adkins and Hank Williams, Jr. It was definitely a rockin' way to open the show. Flashback To One Year Ago - Jamey Johnson and Lee Ann Womack Performing An Incedible Cover Of George Strait's Give It Away

Earlier this week, we featured a lot of videos from this year's ACM Presents Brooks and Dunn: The Last Rodeo Tribute Concert. On this day last year, country music's finest were honoring George Strait at the George Strait: Artist Of The Decade concert. Our favorite performance of the night came from Jamey and Lee Ann covering George's 2006 number one single Give It Away, which was actually co-written by Jamey and Bill Anderson. Enjoy!

This is a great video. It's for Jamey Johnson's High Cost Of Living. The song was released as a single last year, and peaked at #34 on Billboard Hot Country charts, so the video's a little late coming out. No matter though. It's a great song and a great video. Enjoy!

Luke Bryan, Jamey Johnson, Chris Young, Bomshel, Joey & Rory, Steel Magnolia, Eli Young Band, The Lost Trailers And Gloriana Earn Early ACM Nominations

CMT.com is reporting that Luke Bryan, Jamey Johnson and Chris Young have earned an early ACM Nomination for Top New Solo Vocalist. In addition, Bomshel, Joey & Rory and Steel Magnolia were nominated for Top New Vocal Duo, and Eli Young Band, The Lost Trailers and Gloriana were nominated for Top New Vocal Group. Kellie Pickler is somewhere in the Middle East right now, entertaining the military on a USO tour. On her Twitter page, she says "it has been, once again, an unbelievable experience in the Middle East." And, she says "it isn’t over yet." She’s with Randy Houser and Jamey Johnson. Kellie says they’re "a handful of crazy" which she says she is, too. She had to cut short her Twitter time because she had to go catch a helicopter.

Jamey Johnson Performing Nothing Was Better Than You Live On The Streets Of Nashville

Last Spring, Jamey Johnson put on a free concert right in the middle of Commerce Street in Nashville. One of my favorite songs from the concert was this one: Nothing Was Better Than You. According to CMT.com, here's what Jamey said when he introduced this song at a different concert earlier last year, "Here's how this is gonna work. We're gonna play you a new song, and if you hate it, don't say a f**king word." That's Jamey. Enjoy!

Jamey Johnson Moves To Nashville Amid Y2K Fears On This Day In 2000

I love this story. On this day back in 2000, Jamey Johnson moved to Nashville because if a Y2K glitch was going to upend society, he said, "If the world is going to hell, I'm going to Nashville to sing about it."

Jamey's written a lot of great hits, and his first big one was Honky Tonk Badonkadonk, which was recorded by Trace Adkins.  Jamey's first big single was The Dollar, which was included on Jamey's 2005 album of the same name.  If you haven't seen it, you can check out his video for The Dollar below.

Mama's Table is the latest single from The Oak Ridge Boys. It was written by Jamey Johnson specifically for the Oak Ridge Boys. The song paints a picture of an America that for the most part has passed us by. Enjoy!

Country Throwdown Tour Coming In 2010 - Jamey Johnson, Montgomery Gentry, Little Big Town And Jack Ingram Headline

Weekend-long or week-long music festivals are awesome, but how about a traveling music festival. That's exactly what's coming to a city near you next year. Jamey Johnson and Randy Houser On Tour In New York City

If you want to know what two Southern boys look and sound like, look no farther than Jamey Johnson and Randy Houser. Jamey's from Alabama and Randy's from the Mississippi, and together they rolled into New York City for a stop on their CMT On Tour concert series. Trace Adkins' 2005 Hit Video For Honky Tonk Badonkadonk

Honky Tonk Badonkadonk was a number two hit for Trace Adkins back in 2005. The video for the song premiered on CMT on this day back in 2005. The song was written by Jamey Johnson, Randy Houser and another friend of theirs. They wrote the song one night while sitting in a dance club watching a girl dance. Houser came up with the title.
