Jamey Johnson Moves To Nashville Amid Y2K Fears On This Day In 2000

I love this story. On this day back in 2000, Jamey Johnson moved to Nashville because if a Y2K glitch was going to upend society, he said, "If the world is going to hell, I'm going to Nashville to sing about it."

Jamey's written a lot of great hits, and his first big one was Honky Tonk Badonkadonk, which was recorded by Trace Adkins.  Jamey's first big single was The Dollar, which was included on Jamey's 2005 album of the same name.  If you haven't seen it, you can check out his video for The Dollar below.

Jamey Johnson Performs An Unplugged Version of The Dollar

Most people know Jamey Johnson from the success he has achieved recently with his song In Color. However, Jamey released his major-label debut album The Dollar back in January 2006. The first single was the title track The Dollar (MP3), and it was a top twenty hit for Jamey. It peaked at #14 and solidified his reputation among industry insiders as one helluva good songwriter.
