This is a big day for Mary Chapin Carpenter. It's the anniversary of her only number one country hit so far. Back in 1994, her song Shut Up And Kiss Me topped the Billboard Hot Country charts. I thought she had more than just one number one, but Down At The Twist And Shout, He Thinks He'll Keep Her and I Take My Chances all peaked at number two. Enjoy this look back at a number one from one of the best singer-songwriters in country music.
By the way, if you want to see one of the best performances ever, check out Mary performing Opening Act at the 1990 CMA Awards. It was brilliant!
