Back on this day in 1967, Johnny and June recorded Jackson at Nashville's Columbia Recording Studios. In 1968, they won a Grammy award for their recording of the song. Even though it was a huge hit for them, it didn't quite make it to the top of the country charts, stalling at number two. Here they are performing the song live at San Quentin State Prison on February 24, 1969. Enjoy!
