For the week of November 17, 2007, Kenny Chesney's Don't Blink is the #1 song on the Billboard Hot Country charts for the fourth week in a row. The only song to drop out of the top five was Tim McGraw's If You're Reading This, which dropped down to #9. Clay Walker's Fall moved up into the top five landing at #5. Here is the new top five for the week:

Sugarland - Stay - 2007 CMA Awards

Sugarland did an incredible job singing their latest single, Stay, on the 2007 CMA Awards on Wednesday night. Jennifer Nettles has one of the most powerful voices to hit country music in a long, long time. They also won the award for Vocal Duo of the Year. Not bad for a couple of performers who were playing at Eddie's Attic here in Decatur, GA just a few short years ago. Enjoy!

CMA Awards 2007 - Winners

If you missed the CMA's last night, you missed a good show. Here are the winners from this year's event:

• Entertainer of the Year: Kenny Chesney
• Song of The Year: "Give it Away" - Bill Anderson and Jamey Johnson
• Single of The Year: "Before He Cheats" - Carrie Underwood
• Album of the Year: "It Just Comes Natural" - George Strait
• Male Vocalist of the Year: Brad Paisley
• Female Vocalist of the Year: Carrie Underwood
• Vocal Duo of the Year: Sugarland
• Vocal Group of the Year: Rascal Flatts
• Musician of the Year: Jerry Douglas
• Horizon Award: Taylor Swift
• Musical Event of the Year: Tracy Lawrence with Kenny Chesney and Tim McGraw "Find Out Who Your Friends Are"
• Music Video of the Year: "Online" - Brad Paisley

My thoughts on the awards and the show: A lot of the awards went to exactly who I thought they would like, Kenny as Entertainer of the Year, Brad Paisley's Online as Video of the Year, Carrie as Female Vocalist of the Year and Rascal Flatts as Vocal Group of the Year.

However, I was very surprised that Taylor Swift won the Horizon Award. Don't get me wrong, I really like Taylor and she has had a great year, but she beat out Rodney Atkins, who has had three #1 singles in a row and another song that's headed up the charts right now. That feat alone should have won Rodney the award.

The biggest surprise of the night to me though was Sugarland beating out Brooks & Dunn and Montgomery Gentry for Vocal Duo of the Year. I was sure Brooks & Dunn were going to win it again this year, but Jennifer and Kristian pulled off the upset and they were thrilled to say the least. I was so proud of the hometown duo!

Lastly, I can't help but wonder why Tim McGraw, Faith Hill and Toby Keith were not nominated and weren't even asked to perform on this year's show. These three country music superstars have had a great year and definitely deserved a nomination at the very least.

I enjoyed the show, but I have to say that I enjoy the CMT Video Awards show much better. What about you?

2007 CMA Quote of the Night by Taylor Swift

I'm watching the 2007 CMA Awards right now. Taylor Swift just won the Horizon Award. In her acceptance speech, she was getting emotional and said:

"This is definitely the highlight of my senior year!"
