Thompson Square Inviting You To Put Up Your Dukes And 'Let's Fight'

I wasn't familiar with Thompson Square until I saw this video today. In fact, I'd never even heard of them. But, I am very glad I stumbled across the video. I've already downloaded the MP3 from iTunes, and can't enough of the song. Just who are they? Here's how their Myspace profile describes them:

Thompson Square isn’t a real place, exactly. It’s the musical territory staked out by the husband-and-wife duo of Keifer and Shawna Thompson, an exciting and unpredictable area where country meets rock, rough meets smooth and one vagabond heart finds a harmonious common ground with another. It’s the sweet destination where two journeys end and another one begins. “It’s the place where we create our thing, a little fantasyland where we live,” Keifer says. And now the rest of the world is invited to enjoy a nice, long visit."

What you think? Do you like this one as much as us? Enjoy!

New Music - Sarah Darling - Whenever It Rains - Official Music Video

I enjoy featuring new artists on the site. I wasn't very familiar with Sarah Darling until seeing this video this morning. I'm going to let CMT's biography on Sarah tell you more about her. As you'll read below, you might recognize her face from either Kellie Pickler's Red High Heels video or Big and Rich's Save A Horse (Ride A Cowboy) video:

From CMT.com:

Sarah Darling was born in Des Moines, Iowa, and raised in a small Iowa town as an only child. Her earliest exposure to country music came on Sunday mornings when her grandfather would listen to the radio while driving her to church. She grew up writing poetry and eventually gravitated toward writing songs.

On her 14th birthday, she received a small sound system and began singing locally at weddings, birthdays, talent shows, pageants and the Iowa State Fair. In 2002, a year after graduating from high school, Darling saved $5,000 and packed up everything she owned in a horse trailer to head to Nashville to pursue her music career. In 2003, she auditioned for The Entertainer, an E! Entertainment Television reality series hosted by Wayne Newton. After spending eight weeks living at the Las Vegas Hilton while competing for a performing contract, she finished in the Top 3. Newton took her aside one day to say she was his favorite singer on the show -- but added that she didn't belong in Las Vegas. He suggested returning to Nashville to concentrate on country music. She spent the next three years writing songs and performing in local clubs.

While supporting herself with a job as a waitress, Darling also found work as a model and appeared in several music videos, including Kellie Pickler's "Red High Heels," Joe Nichols' "Tequila Makes Her Clothes Fall Off" and Big & Rich's "Save a Horse (Ride a Cowboy)." After hearing her original song, "Stop the Bleeding," on her MySpace page, producer and session keyboardist Jimmy Nichols signed her as the first artist on his label, Black River Records.

Laura Bell Bundy - Find Out Why This Young Lady Succeeds In Everything She Does

As fans, we normally only see the finished product when we either go to a concert, listen to a song on the radio or watch a video on TV or the web. But, what we usually don't see is all the hard work, determination and persistence that the artist has put in over their lifetime to get to the point where they are today. This video will give you an idea of where Laura's been and where she's going. My favorite line from the video is from Laura, 'When I didn't take a chance, it didn't work. And, when I did take a chance, everything I wanted happened.' Good job Laura. Enjoy!

World Premiere - Lee Brice - Love Like Crazy - Official Music Video

Love Like Crazy is one of two hit singles that Lee Brice has on the charts right now. Love Like Crazy is the first single released from his album of the same name set to be released in June. It's currently at #25 on the Billboard Hot Country charts, and in my opinion, should definitely make it into the top ten. The other hit single he has out there right now is Tim McGraw's Still, which Lee co-wrote with Tim. It's currently at #16 on the charts. Here's a look at the world premiere of the video for Love Like Crazy. Enjoy!

Word Premiere - Whitney Duncan - Right Road Now - Official Music Video

Whitney Duncan's major label debut album Right Road Now is set to hit stores this coming Tuesday, April 20, 2010. Just in time, here's Whitney's new video for the title track Right Road Now. I really like this one and hope it does well on the charts for her. Her last single, Skinny Dippin peaked at #48 on the Billboard Hot Country charts, which is the same position her first single When I Said I Would peaked at in 2008.

I definitely feel Right Road Now will peak higher than #48. If you like this one, be sure to pick up a copy of her album and call your local radio station and request it. While it's great to buy their albums and download their MP3's, one of the best things you can do to help out your favorite country star is to call your local radio station and request their songs. The exposure on the radio is invaluable to them. Enjoy!

Matt Kennon's The Call - A Very Powerful Song With A Very Powerful Message

I featured this video a while back when Matt first released the song, but I wanted to feature it again in case you haven't seen/heard it yet. Matt's a local boy from the Conyers, GA area just outside of Atlanta. I heard an interview on the radio a few days ago, and Matt was asked why he came out of the gate with a song with such a serious message. Matt's answer was pretty cool. He basically said this. You never know when you're going to get a shot to make an impression again, so he wanted to come out of the gate with a song that made a statement. I believe he's succeeded.

I love this song. I'm probably biased because I was adopted at birth, and I'm sure my birth mother had to make the same decision the girl in the video did. I'm glad she made the decision she did. Enjoy the video!

New Music Sunday - Jerrod Niemann - Lover, Lover

Jerrod Niemann has been around for a while now, but Lover, Lover is his first single to crack the top 40 on the Billboard Hot Country charts. It's currently at #30, and I think this one has the potential to be a top 20 hit, if not higher. What do you think?

Who Is Tyler Dickerson?

If you've been to Tootsie's in Nashville, you probably know the name Tyler Dickerson. When I first heard Tyler's song Tell Your Sister I'm Single, I was shocked to learn that the man behind the voice was a 16 year old who looks more like a skateboarder than a country singer.  I'll give him credit though, his voice is pure country. Below this video, I've also featured an audio video of Tyler's single Tell Your Sister I'm Single. Enjoy!
