We went to see the Zac Brown Band in concert last night at the Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre here in the Atlanta area. It was an awesome concert, especially since we were sitting on the third row right in front of the stage! One of the best moments of the night to me was actually before Zac and the boys took the stage. The opening act was The Levon Helm Band, which is led by none other than the great Levon Helm from The Band (see photos below). Zac surprised them and came out on stage to perform The Band's classic song The Weight. Here's their performance. Enjoy!
P.S. If you ever get a chance to see ZBB perform live, don't miss them. They put on one helluva good show, and Zac is the most generous performer I've ever seen. He shared the stage with a number of different artists, and he let them have the spotlight unlike some artist's who bring someone up, but overshadow them the entire time. He's definitely a class act!
A few weeks back, we featured footage of the Zac Brown Band performing Free with Jimmy Buffett, and now, here's a new video that was shot when ZBB did a benefit concert here in Atlanta at the Fabulous Fox Theatre benefiting the damaged Georgia Theatre in Athens. In the video, you'll see footage of Joey & Rory, Kid Rock, Little Big Town and Shawn Mullins among other musicians who joined them onstage during the concert. Now this is impressive. Zac Brown Band's Highway 20 Ride just moved up to number one on the Mediabase Country charts this week, which gives them four number one hits in a row from their debut album. In doing so, they become the first band in history to do this. Congratulations go out to Zac and the boys. Looking forward to seeing you live here in Atlanta on May 9th!
Colder Weather is a new song by Zac Brown Band. I'm not sure if it's going to be on their next album or not, but it's not on The Foundation. This video is from ZBB's performance at the Gibson Green Room in Austin, Texas. Enjoy!

The first time I listened to Zac Brown Band's album The Foundation, Highway 20 Ride was immediately my favorite song on the album. I wasn't sure if they were going to release it as a single, but I'm so pleased they did. It's a fantastic song, and I hope it does as well on the charts as their first three singles (Chicken Fried went to #1, Whatever It Is went to #2 and Toes went to #1). It's currently at #27 on the country charts. Enjoy!
Today is a very special day in the history of both country music and music in general. On this day back in 1978, the Charlie Daniels Band recorded The Devil Went Down To Georgia at Nashville's Woodland Sound Studios. This remains one of the BEST country/country rock songs I've ever heard. Here are two fantastic versions of the song. The first is from Charlie himself performing the song live with his band back in the day, and the second is from the Zac Brown Band from this year's CMA Awards. Enjoy!
It's hard to describe how cool this performance was to me. I've been a fan of the Zac Brown Band for a long time, and this is one of the most intense performances I've ever seen. They always play with tremendous emotion, but Zac and the boys raised the bar with this one. Zac's guitar work and Jimmy De Martini's fiddle playing were unbelievable. If you didn't see this live last night, you're in for a treat. If you did, sit back and enjoy it one more time.

You don't know how excited I am for Zac and the boys right now. I knew Toes was going to be a huge hit the first time I heard it last year. It's perfect timing for the song to hit #1 considering their benefit concert for the Georgia Theatre is tonight at the Fox Theatre here in Atlanta. Highway 20 Ride is my favorite song on Zac Brown Band's The Foundation CD. It's a fantastic song. Here's a playlist of four different live performances of the song. Each performance is a little bit different from the other, and they're all great. Zac is one of the few artists that sounds exactly the same live as he does on CD. Enjoy!

ZBB's latest video is for my favorite song from The Foundation album. Toes is a fantastic song, and the guys recruited Kid Rock for the video. The video focuses on the Legend of Flody Boatwood and follows Flody as he sets off to buy beer and ice and daydreams of winning the lottery. I love this video. Enjoy!
