Today is an important day in history for Alabama. On this day back in 1980, RCA released Alabama's My Home's In Alabama album, which was the band's third album, but first to place on the Country album charts. The album would produce three top 20 country hits including two number ones (Tennessee River and Why Lady Why). My favorite song from the album was the title track My Home's In Alabama. It peaked at #17 on the charts. To honor the anniversary of the release of this great album, here's Alan Jackson covering My Home's In Alabama. Enjoy!
The latest Walmart Soundcheck performance is from Alan Jackson. P.S. If you go to Amazon.com, you can pre-order Alan's new album Freight Train for only $8.99 as of today.
Alan Jackson wrote I'd Love You All Over Again for his wife Denise. It's a very personal song that Alan wrote for Denise while staying in a hotel in Pine Bluff, Arkansas on a lonely, rainy evening. Alan's personal note to his wife turned out to be his first number one country single on this day back in 1991. Enjoy!
In this video for Alan Jackson's latest single It's Just That Way, everything seems off for this young man as he walks around town, but once he's with his lover, everything is back to normal. It's Just That Way is currently sitting at #22 on the Billboard Hot Country charts. Alan's last single, I Still Like Bologna (great video), was his first single to fail to crack the top 20 on the country charts since The Blues Man back in 2000, and it was only his third single ever to fail to do so. The other was his debut single Blue Blooded Woman back in 1989. I have a feeling this one's definitely going to be a top ten hit. Enjoy!
Alan Jackson's Gone Country became his 10th number one single on the Billboard Hot Country charts on this day back in 1995. At the time, it was his third number one in a row after Livin' On Love and Summertime Blues. Enjoy!
On this day back in 2001, Alan Jackson's emotional Where Were You (When The World Stopped Turning) began it's five week reign at the top of the Billboard Hot Country charts. At the time, it was Alan's 19th number one single on the Hot Country charts. He's since scored six more for a total of 25 number one hits so far. His last number one was 2008's Country Boy. Enjoy!
Earlier, I posted a video on our Facebook fan page of Loretta Lynn singing Coal Miner's Daughter live. It went to number one on the country charts on this day back in 1970. Alan Jackson's She's Got The Rhythm (And I Got The Blue) also went to number one on this day back in 1992. Enjoy!
On this day back in 1996, Alan Jackson scored his 14th number one Billboard Hot Country single with Little Bitty, a song written by the legendary Tom T. Hall. Here's Alan performing the song live in concert. Enjoy!
Video number 12 in our Veteran's Day Video Marathon is Alan Jackson's Where Were You When The World Stopped Turning. This is probably one of the most memorable patriotic songs of the last decade.
Where were you when the world stopped turning that September day Out in the yard with your wife and children Working on some stage in LA Did you stand there in shock at the site of That black smoke rising against that blue sky Did you shout out in anger In fear for your neighbor Or did you just sit down and cry
Did you weep for the children Who lost their dear loved ones And pray for the ones who don't know Did you rejoice for the people who walked from the rubble And sob for the ones left below
Did you burst out in pride For the red white and blue The heroes who died just doing what they do Did you look up to heaven for some kind of answer And look at yourself to what really matters
I'm just a singer of simple songs I'm not a real political man I watch CNN but I'm not sure I can tell you The difference in Iraq and Iran But I know Jesus and I talk to God And I remember this from when I was young Faith hope and love are some good things he gave us And the greatest is love
Where were you when the world stopped turning that September day Teaching a class full of innocent children Driving down some cold interstate Did you feel guilty cause you're a survivor In a crowded room did you feel alone Did you call up your mother and tell her you love her Did you dust off that bible at home Did you open your eyes and hope it never happened Close your eyes and not go to sleep Did you notice the sunset the first time in ages Speak with some stranger on the street Did you lay down at night and think of tomorrow Go out and buy you a gun Did you turn off that violent old movie you're watching And turn on "I Love Lucy" reruns Did you go to a church and hold hands with some stranger Stand in line and give your own blood Did you just stay home and cling tight to your family Thank God you had somebody to love
I'm just a singer of simple songs I'm not a real political man I watch CNN but I'm not sure I can tell you The difference in Iraq and Iran But I know Jesus and I talk to God And I remember this from when I was young Faith hope and love are some good things he gave us And the greatest is love

Like most people, I remember exactly where I was when 9/11 happened. It moved Alan Jackson so much that in the early morning hours of October 28, 2001, he wrote Where Were You When The World Stopped Turning at 4a.m., and the first time he performed it was on the 2001 CMA Awards. Enjoy this moving performance...

Today is Alan Jackson's birthday. He was born on October 17, 1958. Alan released his first album, Here In The Real World, back in 1990, and the first official single from the album was this song, Blue Blooded Woman. It peaked at #45 on the Billboard Hot Country charts. Here's an amazing stat: Besides this song, Alan has had only one other single during his entire career that didn't crack the top 40: 2001's It's Alright To Be A Redneck. That's an amazing statistic. Happy Birthday Alan! Enjoy this look back at Alan's first music video.

Sissy's Song (iTunes MP3) is Alan Jackson's newest single from his 2008 Good Time album. The song is a tribute to a housekeeper that worked at Alan's house on a daily basis. It's already broken into the top 25 on the Billboard Hot Country charts. It's currently sitting at #24. Enjoy!
