Billy's That's How Country Boys Roll moved up to number five on the Billboard Hot Country charts this week, making it his third top five hit in a row. Today Is An Important Anniversary For Jimmy Wayne - His First Single 'Stay Gone' Was Released To Radio in 2003

On this day back in 2003, DreamWorks released Jimmy Wayne's debut single Stay Gone to radio. It went all the way to number three on the Billboard Hot Country charts, making it his second highest charting single to date behind his number one hit from 2008 Do You Believe Me Now. Jimmy co-wrote the song with Billy Kirsch. If you don't own his self-titled debut album, I'd highly recommend you get it. It's a good one. Enjoy!

Kiss a Girl (MP3) is Keith Urban's second single from his latest album Defying Gravity. His last two singles, Sweet Thing and You Look Good In My Shirt, both went to #1 on the Hot Country charts. Marty has never stopped performing, but unfortunately, today's country radio doesn't have much room for Marty's honky tonk brand of country. Carrie Underwood's So Small Is New #1 Billboard Hot Country Song For Week of December 1, 2007

Well, Dierks Bentley's road to #1 was not only free and easy, but also short and sweet as he only spent one week atop the charts. For the week of December 1, 2007, Carrie Underwood's So Small is the new #1 song on the Billboard Hot Country charts.

After moving up to #1 last week, Dierk's Free and Easy (Down The Road I Go) fell all the way to #4 this week, and Josh Turner's Firecracker popped out of the top five landing at #7 this week. Taking his place at #5 was George Straits' How 'Bout Them Cowgirls, which moved up one spot this week. Here is the new top five for the week:

1. Carrie Underwood - So Small
2. Kenny Chesney - Don't Blink
3. Garth Brooks - More Than A Memory
4. Dierks Bentley - Free and Easy (Down the Road I Go)

Where Are They Now? Blackhawk - Every Once In A While

In the 90's Blackhawk consistently put out top 40 singles. Every Once In A While from their self-tiled debut album from 1994 went all the way to #2 on the Billboard Hot Country charts. Throughout the 90's they had a lot of success on the charts, but they haven't been able to recapture that same type of success in the 2000's. There last top 10 hit was 1999's There You Have It, which peaked at #4.

The main reason for this was the untimely death from skin cancer of vocalist/guitarist Van Stephenson in April 2001. They've had a couple of different lead singers since Van's death, but unfortunately, they haven't been able to make it back to the top of the charts.
